William Force was born 14 September 1792 at New York.3,4,2 He married Aletta Carter, daughter of Captain Luke Carter and Zilla Pierson, 17 July 1817 at Madison, Morris Co., New Jersey.4,3 He died 17 January 1860.3 He was buried at Hillside Cemetery, Madison, Morris Co., New Jersey.3

William moved to New York City by 1832 where the youngest daughter was born.

He has a monument in the Hillside Cemetery, which notes he died Jan 17, 1860, age 67 yr, 4mo, 3da.

A "mug book" sketch of his son states that William was born near Madison, a carpenter, died about 1867, and had seven children. William's son William died in 1867, and the Madison Presbyterian Church records show the 1860 date for William Sr. The Will for Wm Jr., names a wife, Mary S. See Kings Co., New York probate files.4,3,5
