Edmond Crane was born in 1692 at Newark, Essex Co., New Jersey.2 He married Abigail Kitchell, daughter of Abraham Kitchell and Sarah Bruen, say 1734.2 He died before 30 January 1762 at Morristown, Morris Co., New Jersey.2

Lived between Madison and Morristown, New Jersey at what was called the "Hummock." He was a farmer, and two of his sons were captains in the revolution. There was a family bible in Dixon IL in 1905, owned by Dorothy N. Law. Whereabouts presently unknown.2

Edmond Crane left a will dated in 1761 proved 9 Mar 1762 (or 30 Jan 1762)

His will stated he was from Morristown, Morris Co., and was a yeoman; wife Abigail; son Stephen; daughter Affia Persons; daughter Rhoda Person; granddaughter Abigail Squire, her father Jonathan Squire; son Josiah; son Ezekiel' son John; son James; son David; brother-in-law Joseph Kitchell.2
