William Hunt was born 17 May 1776 at New Garden, Guilford Co., North Carolina.1,3,4 He married Ruth Brittain, daughter of William Brittain and Rebecca Ballinger, say 1796; Ruth has been identified by several researchers as Ruth Brittain, daughter of William and Rebecca (Ballenger) Brittain of New Garden, Guilford Co., North Carolina. Biographical Memoirs of Jay Co., (pub. 1901) do show she was a Brittain.5,6 He died before 25 November 1843 at Wayne Co., Indiana.6,4
