After Winfield died, Amy divided her time among her children. She spent the summers in Gunnison, where she was well known and loved by all who knew her. She lived an active, busy life, having as a hobby in her later years, the making of beautiful quilts and other handwork, crocheting a lace tablecloth in her 83rd year. She was one of the charter members of the Christian church at Clifton. It was due to her demand for a Sunday school that led to the establishment of that church. Her funeral was held there.

When she died, she had lived in Gunnison three months (April - June). My presumption is she should have been in Grand Junction for the 1940 Census, but has not been found there and so far has not been located in the index.
