John Truax was baptized 27 August 1727 at Middletown, Monmouth Co., New Jersey.2 He married Margaret Mount 8 November 1743 at New Jersey.3 He died after 1784 at Loudoun Co., Virginia.4

The Loudoun County minute book has three entries for John Truax:

12 Mar 1782 was allowed (credited) for 235 pounds of beef @ 4 pence.

13 Aug 1782 there was a court order on the case of Truax v Eblin. No other details.

9 Dec 1782 he was appointed Surveyor in the room of Saml Wilks.5

He signed a petition requesting a review of the placement of a road, attempting to move it back to where it had been for many years, instead of where (it appears) it had recently been moved. His signature might be found on the original or film of it.6

He is listed as a tithable of Loudoun Co. with David Truax (probably his son), in 1773, 1774, 1775, 1778, and 1784 (The 1784 list only names the first tithable of the household, but does show the total number. In 1773 and 1774 the record is clear that he was of Shelburne parish.7
