Mary Pecker was born 15 September 1720 at Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.1 She was the daughter of James Pecker and Susannah [Edwards].1 She married Emerson Cogswell, son of William Cogswell and Martha Emerson, 30 December 1736 at Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts.2,1 She died 23 December 1795 at Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 75.3

Her uncle Daniel was appointed guardian in 1634, but on 16 Sep 1735, he was replaced with Bridget's new husband. At this point, Mary was an orphan, living with a step-mother and step-father. It is not surprising to find her "married off" the next year at age 16.

She lived with her son Emerson as a widow for many years and to a "great age." She ran a school in the house, and her grandchildren attended it.4,1
