Aletta Carter, daughter of Captain Luke Carter and Zilla Pierson, was born at Madison, Morris Co., New Jersey, 12 February 1797,1 and baptized there, but not until 23 November 1806, the same date as four other siblings.2 She died at Madison, Morris Co., New Jersey, 28 April 1842, aged "45 yr, 2 mo, 16 da,"3 and was buried at Hillside Cemetery, Madison, Morris Co., New Jersey.3

Aletta married William Force, son of Squire Force and Margaret Johnson, at Madison, Morris Co., New Jersey, 17 July 1817.4,3
