Thomas married Margaret (---).1

Thomas Stoughton seems to have given up the fish business at London as he lived in Dartford, Kent as a country gentleman. According to his wish, he was buried beside his lately departed wife, Margaret, at the Dartford church. He asked that masse be said for is soul as well as for the soule of his wife, indicating that he was an active member of the Catholic Church. He left money to be used to set up a tower on the church at Dartford.

Second son Edward was the chief beneficiary of his will and made executor with direction to be in charge of his older brother Peter who was apparently not capable of caring for himself. A third son, Richard, received a sum of money and lands at Dartford, Sandwich, and surroundings, but lived in London.1
