Reverend John Lothrop, son of Thomas Lowthrop and Maud (---), was born probably shortly before his baptism at Etton, Yorkshire, England, 20 December 1584.1 He died at Barnstable, Barnstable Co., Massachusetts, 8 November 1653,1 and is probably buried at Lothrop Hill Cemetery, Barnstable, Barnstable Co., Massachusetts, where a memorial was placed.2

John married (1) Hannah House, daughter of Reverend John House and Alice (---), at Eastwell, Yorkshire, England, 10 October 1610;1,3,4 he married (2) Ann (---), whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), before 1635.1,5
