Justin Dewey, son of Paul Dewey and Susan Reed, was born at Massachusetts, about 31 August 1778.1,2 He died of heart failure at Inlet, Lee Co., Illinois, 29 August 1857, age 78 yrs, 11 mos, 29 dys.3,2

Justin married Desire Miller, daughter of Pliny Miller and Desire Hillyer, say 1799.3,4

Justin moved to Groome Co., New York. In 1828 he moved to Delaware Co., Ohio. Then in 1833, he settled at Troy Grove, La Salle Co., Illinois. He was a carpenter and farmer by trade and had blue eyes.3
