Dr. Pieter Gansevoort, MD, son of Leendart Gansevoort and Catherine de Wandelaer, was born probably shortly before his baptism at Albany, Albany Co., New York, 25 July 1725.1 He died at Albany, 17 March 1809,1,2 and was buried at Albany Rural Cemetery, Lot 77, Sec. 84, Menands, Albany Co., New York.3,2

Pieter married Garritje Ten Eyck, daughter of Coenraedt Ten Eyck and Geertje Van Schaick, at Albany 7 January 1751/52.4,1

In 1790, his household was probably the one enumerated in the Albany 3rd Ward, Albany Co., New York, with 3 free white males over 16, 1 under 16, and 4 free white females, and * slaves.5

Pieter was a doctor, having studied under a Dr. Cutler of Boston.6
