Ranulph de Gernon, Earl of Chester, son of Ranulph III, Earl of Chester and Lucy, was born at the Castle of Gernon, Normandy, France, about 1100.1,2 He died 23 December 1153.2

Ranulph married Maud of Gloucester, daughter of Robert Fitz Roy, 1st Earl of Gloucester and Maud Fitz Robert, about 1141.2
