Hester Stephens, daughter of Thomas Stephens and Elizabeth Cook, was born at Southampton, Suffolk Co., New York, 28 February 1678/79.1 She died 18 January 1753,2 and was buried at the North End Graveyard, Southampton, Suffolk Co., New York.3

Hester married Samuel Johnes, son of Samuel Johnes and Sarah (---), before 1698 when she is shown as Ester Johnes in the household of Samuel Johnes, along with two Johnes chldren, Samuell Johnes, jur, and Phebe Johnes.4,5
