John Barrow, son of Henry Barrow and Eliza Presley, was born probably shortly before his baptism at St. Philip's Parish, Barbados, 2 September 1719.1 He died at Barbados, before 28 September 1781,2 when he was buried at St. Philip's Parish, Barbados, age 65.2

John married (1) Ann (…), say 1745;3,4 he married (2) Sarah Clinton at St. Michael's Parish, Barbados, in 1776. The ancestries of both women are unknown (or not traced here).5

Cheesman fails to account for the baptism of son John, at an unknown place in 1764, a couple of months after their first son married Francis Mayer. This son John appears to have died before the father wrote his will in 1781 without mentioning this additional son.5

John left a will dated 1781, and likely proved that year. In it he named wife Sarah and six children:
     "undutiful daughter" Elizabeth to receive £200 only if she outlived her husband, Richad Farrell, for "disobedience on her marriage,"
     "beloved son" John Henry to receive the plantation at Upton,
     £500 each to Temperance, George, Christopher and Nathaniel.5
