Sir William de Greystoke, Knt., 2nd Lord Greystoke, son of Sir Ralph de Greystoke, Knt., 1st Lord Greystoke and Alice de Audley, was born at Grimthorpe, Yorkshire, England, 6 January 1320/211 and baptized there the same day.1 He died at Brancepeth, Durham, England, 10 July 1359,1 and was buried at Greystoke Church, Cumberland, England.1

William married (1) Lucy de Lucy, daughter of Sir Anthony de Lucy, Knt., 1st Lord Lucy;1 he later repudiated her as his wife;1 he married (2) Joan Fitz Hugh, daughter of Sir Henry Fitz Hugh, Knt. and Joan de Fourneux, about 9 October 1351.1
