Sir Richard Champernowne, Knt., son of Sir Thomas Champernowne, Knt. and Eleanor de Rohaut, was born at Suddon, Somerset, England, 29 June 1344.1 He died before 3 April 1419, when his will was proved.2

Richard married (1) Alice de Astley, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), about 25 April 1369;1 he married (2) Katherine d'Aubeney, daughter of Sir Giles d'Aubeney and Eleanor Wilington, before 13 August 1394.1
