Elizabeth Friend, daughter of John Friend, was born about 1630.1 She died at Boston, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts, before 1669.2,1
Elizabeth married James Pecker, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), say 1649.2,3
John Friend, of Salem in 1638, left a will dated 4 Nov 1665 and proved 27 Jan 1666, providing for his daughter Elizabeth Pecker: ". . . besides that tenn pownds I haue in my hands wch her grandfather gaue her, twente shillings."
Wood presents a case, based on onomastics, that Elizabeth may have married John Packer of Groton, Connecticut. However, he gives no evidence showing how the Groton man "got within kissing distance" of Elizabeth before their marriage. Stearns does not mention the Wood article. Torrey gives Elizabeth [Friend] as the wife of both men, though with different sources for each marriage. References for each man, and their evidence bearing on the problem.
