William Hawkins, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), was born at England, before 1617.1 He died after 1699.1

William married Margaret (…), whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), say 1650.1,2

Austin notes that he received land in Providence in 1638, so was born probably before 1617. Yet his children do not come of age until nearly 40 years later, in the late 1670's and 80's and were likely born in the 1650's & 60's. By Austin's notes he died after 1699, so was probably at least 85 or so, somewhat older than might be expected. It must be considered (strongly?) that Austin conflated two William Hawkins to one, but until further evidence is found, I leave it as Austin has it.1
