Joanna Folger, daughter of Peter Folger and Mary Morrill, was born say 1647.1 She died at Nantucket, Nantucket Co., Massachusetts, 18 July 1719.2

Joanna married John Coleman, son of Thomas Coleman and Susan Raulines, at Nantucket before 1667.3,4,5,6

Anderson suggests that there are no primary sources identifying Joanna as a Folger. However, Benjamin Franklin identified all of his aunts by their married surname in a note or letter from Nantucket dated "10 mo, 18d 1763" that was reprinted in 1899. Joanna (Folger) Coleman would be sister to Abiah (Folger) Franklin, Benjamin's mother.3,4
