Job Wick, son of John Wick and Temperance (…), died at Southampton, Suffolk Co., New York, before 12 February 1761, when his will was proved.1

Job married Anna Cook, daughter of Abiel Cook and Frances (…), at Southampton 21 December 1721.2,3

A sketch of the ancestors of Col. Caleb B. Wick of Youngstown, Ohio, refers to Job Wick of Southampton: "He was married, as appears by a family record, to Anna Cook December 21, 1721." The descendants of all Cook males of this period in Southampton are known, and the only Anna is the daughter of Abiel. Although his will names only two of his sons, Lemuel and Zebulon, both could be named after two of Anna's brothers.3,2

Job left a will dated 30 August 1757, and proved 12 Feb 1761:
In the name of God, Amen. I, Job Wick, of the town of Southampton, Suffolk County, being weak in body.
I order all debts and funeral charges to be paid.
I leave to my wife, Anna Wick, the use of my movable estate, and 1/3 of my lands and meadows, and the use of one room in my house with the oven and the well, so long as she continues my widow.
I leave to my two sons, Lemuel and Zebulon Wick, all my lands and meadows to be equally divided.
I leave to my daughters that are married or shall be married before my decease, 10 shillings each, and to my daughters that are not married at my decease, £30 each (daughters not named).
I give to my grandson, Silvanus Wick, 10 shillings.
I make my wife Anna and my son Lemuel executors.
After the death of my wife it is my will that all my movable estate be divided among all my children.4
