Peter Shidler, son of Johan George Shidler and Margaret Neff, was born in 1751.1,2 He died 9 July 1830,1,3 and was buried at Raper Churchyard, Stanton, Miami Co., Ohio.1,3

Peter married Susannah (…), whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), about 1782.1

In 1790, his household was probably the one enumerated in Washington Co., Pennsylvania, with 1 free white male over 16, 2 under 16, and 7 free white females.4

2 October 1781, Peter Shidler and brothers Jacob, George, and Henry were listed as members of Capt George Miars company, 5th Battalion of Washington County Militia. The nature of their service has not been determined, but this was a time when Washington's regular army was concentrating at Yorktown.5
