Benjamin and his wife settled early in New Haven, Conn. At Court on 2 May 1648, "Old Goodman Willmote" took the oath of fidelity. On May 1, 1654, "Old Goodman Willmot" desired of the Court, that his sone may be freed from training which was considered, and with reference to his own age, his wife's weakness, and their living at a farm, his son was freed, only "to attend as other farmers do." The son referred to was William.1
"Aged about fourscore," he made his will 7 August 1669 bequeathing
