John Giffard, son of Thomas Giffard and Eleanor Vaux, was born about 1431.1 He died before 23 September 1506.2

John married (1) Alles (…), whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), in 1450;2 he married (2) Agnes Winslowe, daughter of Thomas Winslowe and Agnes Throckmorton, about 1460.2

In 1479 and 1483 he was a commissioner of the peace. He appears to have adhered to Richard III. He was high sheriff of co. Bucks in 1497. On 24 November 1487 he granted his lands in Fringford, co. Oxford, to his son Thomas and his (Thomas's) wife Joan and their heirs, and on 23 September, 22 Henry VII [1506], his son Thomas received licence to enter, without proof of age, upon the lands of his father, John Gifford of Twyford, a tenant in chief.2
