Sir Walter de Burgh, Knt., 2nd Earl of Ulster, son of Richard de Burgh and Gille de Lacy, died at Galway Castle, 28 July 1271,1 and was buried in the monastery of Athassel-on-the-Suir, Tipperary, Ireland.1

Walter married Aveline Fitz John, daughter of Sir John Fitz Geoffrey, Knt. and Isabel Bigod, about 1257.1
