Thomas Hopping, son of Samuel Hopping and Sarah (…), was born 30 June 1766.1 He died 22 December 1825,1 and was buried at First Presbyterian Church of Hanover Cemetery, Hanover, Morris Co., New Jersey, where his severly damaged stone reads (or at least once read):
To the memory
of
Thomas Hopping
who departed this life
December the 22, 1825
aged 59 years 5 months and 22 days
Such was the friend whose loss we deplore,
The friends whose loss this consolation gives;
That though the much lov'd Father is no more,
In every good mans memory he lives.1
He, son of Samuel Hopping and Sarah (…), married Margaret Griswold Cook, daughter of Zebulon Cook and Mary Jones.2,3
