Rev. Aaron Richards, son of John Richards and Jane Crane, was born about 1718.1 He died at Rahway, Union Co., New Jersey, 16 May 1793,1 and was buried at the Presbyterian Churchyard, Rahway, Union Co., New Jersey.1

Aaron married Susannah Smith, daughter of Obadiah Smith and Susannah Stephens, at Smithtown, Suffolk Co., New York, 17 December 1750.1

Rev. Aaron Richards graduated from Yale in 1743, was ordained by the Presbytery of New York, 15 Nov 1748, and was installed as the first pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Rahway, New Jersey. He held that position for 42 years until he retired in 1791.1

Rev. Aaron Richards of Essex Co., died intestate and administrators James Brown and [wife] Susannah Richards were appointed administrators, 10 June 1793.

The inventory was made by Daniel Marsh and Amos Morse, 12 Jun 1793, and totaled £1244 8s 1d.2
