Benjamin Howell, son of Benjamin Howell and Hannah Norris, was born at Southampton, Suffolk Co., New York, 10 October 1725.1,2 He died 26 December 1798,1,2 and was buried at Vail Memorial Cemetery, Parsippany, Morris Co., New Jersey.1

Benjamin married (1) Abigail Cook, daughter of Abiel Cook and Frances (…), 17 July 1751;1,2 he married (2) Sarah (…), whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), after 1784.2

Benjamin left a will dated 13 June 1795, and proved 12 Jan 1799, leaving to:
wife Sarah, all property she brought at her marriage; also room with privileges of house, 1 horse, 1 cow, and £50; also yearly provisions to be supplied by son, John, while widow;
Granddaughter, Abigail Crane, late Abigail Grover, £100, 1 cow, 1 calf, and household furniture.
Only son John, residue of real and personal estate.

Witnesses–Hiram Smith, Benjamin Smith, Daniel Minton


Inventory was made 10 Jan 1799, $1,271.43, by Hiram Smith and James Thomas.3
