William Gascoigne, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), was born about 1309, being age 44 and more when he deposed at an inquisition post mortem the Tuesday after 24 June in 27 Edw III (25 Jan 1352/53 - 24 Jan 1353/54).1,2 He died about 1378.3,4

William married Agnes Franke, daughter of Nicholas Franke and Ellen Ellis.5

There is no contemporary evidence to support the supposed ancestry of William Gascoigne from another William Gasgoigne and Maude Gawthorpe.6,7
