Sir Miles de Stapleton, Knt., 1st Lord Stapleton, son of Sir Nicholas de Stapleton, Knt. and Margery Basset, died at the Battle of Bannockburn, Scotland, 24 June 1314,1 and was buried at Dominican Friars, York, Yorkshire, England.1

Miles married (1) Sibyl de Bellew, daughter of Sir John de Bellew, Knt. and Ladrana de Brus, before 1286;1 he married (2) Joan Darrell, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), before 1301/2.1
