Othuel Fitz Earl, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), died 25 November 1120, in the wreck of the White Ship.1

Othuel married, as her 2nd husband, Margaret Fitz Eudes, daughter of Eudes Fitz Hubert "the Steward" and Rohese Fitz Richard, after 1116.1

If Othuel Fitz Earl died in the wreck of the White Ship in 1120, he cannot be the son of Hugh, Earl of Chester who was b. 1147. There is an earlier Earl Hugh (CP 3:164), but the father is certainly not the Earl Hugh RA shows at Chester 5.2
