Christopher Thirkeld, Gent., son of Christopher Thirkeld, Esq. and Joane Carlyle, was born about 1497, being age 42 at his father's Ipm in 1539.1 He died 20 September 1555.2,3
Christopher probably had an unknown first wife;2 he married (2) Josia Constable, about 1539.2,4
Johnson points out that Marmaduke, son and heir, was 24 and upwards at his fathers IPM in 1555. Per his father's IPM in 1539, Christopher "was married or would soon marry" Josia. This is too late for her to be the mother of Marmaduke.2
