George Bunker, son of Timothy Bunker and Elizabeth (…), was born probably shortly before his baptism at Tingrith, Bedford, England, 25 April 1621.1 He drowned at Topsfield, Essex Co., Massachusetts, 26 May 1658.2
George married (1) Elizabeth Godfrey, daughter of Thomas Godfrey and Elizabeth Mead, at Moulden, Bedford, England, 5 May 1644;2,3 he married (2) Jane (…), whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), say 1650.
Often said to be a son of William, a Huguenot in England, but his baptism, marriage, and baptism of his son William at Tingrith and Maulden, and the his parent's apparent marriage at Houghton Regis, all in near vicinity in Bedfordshire lead to the conclusion he is the son of Timothy and his second wife, Elizabeth (…) Bunker
He initially lived at Ipswich, but resided at Topsfield after his marriage to Jane. She is sometimes named as Jane Godfey, but this appears to be a confusion with his first wife.
His widow presented his inventory of £300 on 20 June following his death. His children were named as Elizabeth, aged 12; William, 10; Mary, 6; Ann, 4 ; and Martha, 1 and 1/2.2
