Sir John Stanley, Knt., M.P., son of Thomas Stanley, Esq., Knight of the Shire for Staffordshire and Maud Arderne, was born in 1423.1 He died 29 June 1476.1,2

John married (1) Cecily Arderne, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), say 1440;2 he married (2), as her 2nd husband, Elizabeth Vernon, daughter of Sir Richard Vernon, Knt., Speaker of the House of Commons and Bennet Ludlow, before 1446;2 he married (3), as her 2nd husband, Anne Horne, daughter of Robert Horne, Alderman of London and Joan Fabian, after 1471.2
