Hugh d'Avranches "le Gros," Earl of Chester, son of Richard le Goz, Vicomte d'Avranches and Emma de Conteville, was born about 1047.1 He died 27 July 1101.1

Hugh married Ermentude, daughter of Hugh de Creil, Count and Margaret de Roucy.2,3

By various unknown mistresses, he had several known illegitimate sons and daughters.4
