John Atwater which was proved 14 Jul 1501. In it, he directed that he be buried in the churchyard of Our Lady of Lenham, and mentions his wife, Marion, his sons, Robert and John, his daughters, Florence Spyce and Thomasine Turner, his grandchildren and godchildren, giving to them property in Lenham. "The residue of all my goods not bequeathed I bequeath to the dispositon of Maryan, my wife, and Robert, my son, the which Robert and Maryan I make my executors." Holman quotes from the Atwater Genealogy (1901), which does give a source for the will, but she presumes it's from Prerogative Court of Canterbury.1
