Robert Watson, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), died at Windsor, Connecticut, 19 July 1689.1

Robert married Mary Rockwell, daughter of John Rockwell and Wilmot Cade, at Windsor 10 December 1646.1,2,3

He is sometimes thought to be a son of a Robert Watson who was early in Plymouth, however Anderson indicates there is absolutely no credible evidence of any such person. Judge Davis in the History of Plymouth probably miscopied "Robert" from a deed made in 1638 by Elizabeth Watson, widow of Thomas Watson.1,4

He was a bell-founder from London and was at Windsor in 1639-40. He was admitted to The Windsor Church 22 Jan 1649, but cast out (no reason stated) 11 May 1651. He was restored to fellowship 18 Jan 1656 and his children were baptized a week later. He contributed 8s to the Connecticut Relief Fund for the poor in other colonies, 1676.1
