Richard Skepper, Gent., son of Richard Skepper and Audrie [Etheldreda] Grynne, was born at East Kirkby, Lincolnshire, England, about 1495.1,2 He died at East Kirkby, after 26 May 1556, when he wrote his will.1,3

Richard married (1) Katherine (…), whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), at East Kirkby, about 1544;1 he married (2) Joan Legard, daughter of Ralph Legard and Isabel Hildyard, at East Kirkby, 1550/51.1,4,3

He wrote his will 26 May 1556, directing his body be buried in the church, and mentioned his sons Thomas and George Skepper, "my eldest son, Edward Skepper" under 21, daughter Bridget Skepper, Ann Skepper, and copyholds in Friskney, Irby, Thorpe, Wainfleet, Bolingbroke, Miningsby, and Kirkby.1
