Gilbert FitzRichard de Clare, Earl of Clare, son of Richard Fitz Gilbert and Rohese Giffard, was born before 1066.1 He died between 1114 and 1117.1

Gilbert married Adeliza Clermont, daughter of Hugh de Creil, Count and Margaret de Roucy.2

Gilbert was Lord of Tunbridge, founder of the Priory of Clare in 1090, and Lord of Cardigan, 1107-1111.2
