Nicholas Clapp, son of Richard Clapp and Christian (…), was born at Sidbury, England, about 1580.1 He died before 14 March 1632,1 when he was buried at Venn Ottery, Devon, England.1

Nicholas married Elizabeth (…), whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), about 1603.1

Living in Sidbury, married and with children in 1608 and probably still there in 1622. Removed to Venn Ottery before Mar 1631 with his son Richard who married there in 1633 and who apparently always resided in that parish. The only record of Nicholas are the register records of his burial and that of his wife.

Will dated "xij daye of Marche Ao Dmi 1631" and proved in Arch. Exeter, 29 Mar 1632. Inventory dtd 26 Mar 1632, 176-00-00, exhibited 29 Mar 1631 (?2). Daughter Prudence is not mentioned in the will; she was probably married and already received her portion.1
