John Green of Stamford is most probably not the man of Suffolk Co., Long Island who married Mary Jarvis, daughter of Steven Jarvis and Mary Porter. Hoppin said he was, but Seversmith points out that Hoppin gave no evidence, other than that the name was the same. John's first wife is unknown.3,1
