George Stonehouse, son of Robert Stonehouse, Gent. and Rose Roydon, died before 1573, when his will was proved.1

George married (1) Elizabeth Gibson, daughter of Nicholas Gibson;2,3 he married (2) Elizabeth Woodroos, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here).4

He was of Little Peckham, Kent, and of Radley, Berkshire and one of the Clerks of the Board of Green Cloth to Queen Elizabeth.5

George Stonehouse left a will of unknown date, but proved in 1573. In it, he described himself as a merchant of the Staple and Clerk of the Green Cloth of the Queens Household of Bersted, Kent, and named Edward, Thomas, William, Nicholas, James, Suzan, and [---] Thompson.1
