Sir Robert Plumpton, Knt., son of Sir William Plumpton, Knt. and Alice Gisburn, was born about 1383 being age 24 in 1407.1 He died 8 December 1421,1 and was buried in the church at Spofforth, Yorkshire, England.1

Robert married Alice Foljambe, daughter of Sir Godfrey Foljambe, Knt. and Margaret de Leeke, before 6 November 1401.1,2
