Paul Dewey, son of Israel Dewey and Lydia Moseley, was born at Westfield, Hampden Co., Massachusetts, 6 March 1739.1 He died 8 August 1827, age 88.1 Both he and his 1st wife were buried at Church on the Hill Cemetery, Lennox, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts.2
Paul married (1) Susan Reed in 1763;1 he married (2), as her 2nd husband, Hannah (Sabin) Crawford in 1788. The ancestries of both women are unknown (or not traced here).1
In 1790, his household was probably the one enumerated at Lenox, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts, with 2 free white males over 16, 2 under 16, and 4 free white females.3

He was a private in Capt. Isaac Marsh's co., Col. Sear's Berkshire Co. regt., stationed at Fort Plain, under Brig-Gen Gates, from 21 July to 2 Nov 1781.
