Sir Walter Hungerford, K.G., K.B., 1st Lord Hungerford, son of Sir Thomas Hungerford, Knt., Speaker of the House of Commons and Joan Hussey, was born about 22 June 1378.1 He died 9 August 1449.1 Both he and his 1st wife were buried at Salisbury Cathedral, England.1
Walter married (1) Katherine Peverel, daughter of Thomas Peverel, Esq. and Margaret de Courtenay, 8 October 1396;1 he married (2), as her 3rd husband, Eleanor Berkeley, whose ancestry is known, but not traced here, 8 May 1439.2
