William de Cheyne, son of Sir Alexander de Cheyne, Knt. and Agnes de Say, was born about 1274.1 Having fought against the King's forces at the Battle of Boroughbridge, he is said to have been hanged at York or Pontrefact at Yorkshire, England, about March 1322.1

William married Margaret de Shurland, daughter of Sir Robert de Shurland, Knt. and Margery (…).1
