David Alden, son of John Alden and Priscilla Mullins, was born at Duxbury, Plymouth Colony, between 1645 and 1650.1 He died at Duxbury, Plymouth Co., Massachusetts, between 2 July 1718 and 1 April 1719.1

David married Mary Southworth, daughter of Constant Southworth and Elizabeth Collier, before 1674.1,2

David Alden was named Constable for Duxbury, 7 Jun 1676; selectman in 1691; treasurer in 1701.

He was granted land by his father, Duxbury, and serveral share's in his father's right.

In 1717 and 1718 he gave away most of his land to his children while he was still living, the last being to son-in-law Judah Paddock and his wife Alice Paddock, not long before John died, 5 June 1718. He died intestate, the bond for the administration of his estate being dated 1 April 1719. The inventory shows five remaining tracts which were subsequently disposed of by his children.3
