Joseph Thompson, son of John Thompson and Dorothy (…), was born between 1647 and 1655.1,2 He died at Wallingford, Connecticut, before February 1703/4, when adminstration on his estate was granted to Joseph Thompson, son of the deceased, and John Moss.3,2,1

Joseph married (1) Elizabeth Lothrop, daughter of Samuel Lothrop and Elizabeth Scudder, at Wallingford, about 1683;4,3,1,2,5 he married (2) Mercy Barnes, whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), 22 November 1694.3,1

In 1690, County Court Records (1:178) refer to Joseph Thompson as father-in-law to his deceased wife's children whom she had with Isaac Royce.2
