William Stephens, son of Thomas Stephens and Elizabeth Cook, was born at Southampton, Suffolk Co., New York, 4 April 1684.1 He probably died before 1698, but there is a remote possibility that he is the William Stephens2 who married Eunice Floyd, daughter of Richard Floyd and Margaret Woodhull, of Mastic, Long Island.3,4
