ChartsDescendants of Ellis Cook-6 Generations
Parthenia Leonard, daughter of Henry Leonard and Sarah Morford, married Zebulon Cook, son of Abiel Cook and Frances (…), before 1739.1,2,3

In his will of 17 Apr 1739, Henry Leonard of Shrewsbury Township, Monmouth Co., gentleman, gave, "to my daughter, Parthenia Cook the sum of ten pounds to be paid her in money;” :4
Fiske noted that, "Richard Wilson Cook believed that Thomas was the Cook husband of Parthenia Leonard, daughter of Samuel Leonard [sic], but recent research has revealed an unrecorded deed, in the library of the Monmouth County Historical Association, proving that she married Zebulon Cook, a descendant of the Ellis Cook family of Southampton, L.I."1

The deed was located and reexamined in 2010. It makes no reference to any relationship with the Leonard family. The parcel the Cook's were conveying was originally conveyed to Zebulon by Abiel Cook in 1736; the relationship to Abiel is not stated, but they are probably brothers.5
