Isaiah Hunt, son of William Hunt and Sarah Mills, was born at New Garden, Guilford Co., North Carolina, 16 October 1756.1 He died at New Garden, before February 1822, when his will was proved.2

Isaiah married (1) Elizabeth Floyd, daughter of John Floyd and Ann Matthews, at New Garden, 8 February 1775;3 he married (2) Merriam (…), whose ancestry is unknown (or not traced here), at Guilford Co., North Carolina, about 12 June 1816.4,5,6

In 1790, his household was probably the one enumerated at Salisbury District, Guilford Co., North Carolina, with 1 free white male over 16, 3 under 16, and 5 free white females.7

Isaiah left a will dated at Guilford Co., 9 August 1820, and proved in February, 1823, naming or mentioning (in order):
wife Merriam,
son William,
unamed daughters by his first wife,
remaining sons Jesse, Joel, Isaiah, & Thomas,
daughter Merriam.5
